Please try installing the latest developer's release from https://www.akeebabackup.com/download/developer-releases/akeebapro.html

If you cannot access Joomla!'s extensions installer page, please remember to disable the System - System Restore Points plugin.

Do note that even though the dev release is marked as "alpha" it's actually the same release as 3.7.0 with one important change: I have updated Akeeba Strapper which is used to provide the CSS and Javascript for the backend. In version 3.7.0 this used a LESS parser to generate the CSS on-the-fly which I believe is the source code of the issues being reported with 3.7.0.

Please do confirm the fix. I will need to have some positive feedback before I can release a 3.7.1 version.

It works!

Nicholas,

I'am sorry to react later, I had a meeting.

But we have installed your new alpha update and everything is now working correct, we had also installed the new admin module 2.5.1 and he is also correct working.

Than you so much for your fast reaction, we we were already in stres because the installiation extensie was not longer reachable. But now everything is working fine!

Thanks,

No problem! I released version 3.7.1 a few minutes ago. Before installing it please delete the media/akeeba_strapper directory and disable the System - System Restore Points plugin, otherwise the inclusion / exclusion filters may not work properly after installing 3.7.1.

Hello Ncholas,

Do I have to delete the whole directory media/akeeba_strapper directory or only the files in the directory?

After installing the new update 3.7.1. I have to able the System - System Restore Points plugin againn? (Never worked with it:-))

Either way will do. Deleting the entire directory is the easiest way (IMHO!).

After installing 3.7.1 and trying to access Akeeba Backup it will ask you if you want to enable the system restore point feature. If you check that box it will enable the plugin for you.

New problem,

I have delted the whole directory media/akeeba_strapper directory and if i want to go to the akeeba backup componnet I got to see an empty page! Just white!

And if I go tot the admintools component I get a page with the following text.

Warning: include_once(/home/uid/public_html/index/media/akeeba_strapper/strapper.php) [function.include-once]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/uid/public_html/index/administrator/components/com_admintools/dispatcher.php on line 39

Warning: include_once() [function.include]: Failed opening '/home/uid/public_html/index/media/akeeba_strapper/strapper.php' for inclusion (include_path='.:/usr/lib/php:/usr/local/lib/php') in /home/uid/public_html/index/administrator/components/com_admintools/dispatcher.php on line 39

Fatal error: Class 'AkeebaStrapper' not found in /home/uid/public_html/index/administrator/components/com_admintools/dispatcher.php on line 40

So what to do?

Antoine

Nicholas,

Installation extensie is still availeble, so I can install a new update.

That is maybe easier?

Please note what I wrote above:

This wasn't an optional step; it was a mandatory step :) By removing the media/akeeba_strapper directory you're killing all Akeeba extensions. This means that if the System Restore Points plugin is activated you're also killing the extensions update page. Disable the plugin, you get access to the installer, install 3.7.1 and your problem is solved.

And I'd wish that my WYSIWYG editor would warn me that the text I made slightly bigger would actually be rendered as HUGE. *sigh* I hope you're not offended by the extremely big type.

Onnly there is stil one strange thing, Akeebabackup is now saying there is an new update, if i click on that icon, I get the a strange message which is saying I'am using 3.7.1 and the newest version is 3.7.0. I have to do somthing to get this notice correct? See the included screen capture.

I believe this is the update CDN's fault which takes anywhere between 1 hour and 1 day to update
