Mandatory information about my setup:

Have I read the related troubleshooter articles above before posting (anything related on site or linked from Akeeba installation/troubleshooting wizard)? Yes
Have I searched the tickets before posting? Yes
Have I read the documentation before posting (Akeeba manual, troubleshooting documentation, whatever else your site recommended)? Yes
Joomla! version: (2.5.8)
PHP version: (5.3.14)
MySQL version: (5.0)
Host: (GoDaddy)
Akeeba Backup version: (3.6.12)

Error log zip file attached.

Description of my issue: Akeeba seemed to install OK but I've never been able to get configuration wizard to work (says there's an issue with saving max execution time). I've read documentation on configuring manually and also have checked settings, versions, and/or made adjustments recommended in troubleshooting guides (e.g., permissions, memory limit, more). Issue is, sometimes backing up site works and sometimes not. Right now backup isn't working at all. Backup usually hangs during backup of files, but sometimes earlier in the process, too.

Error says:

AJAX Loading Error

HTTP Status: 0 (error)

Internal Status: 0

XHR ReadyState: 0

Raw Server Resonse:

[end of error message]

I get this error more often than I'm able to backup anything, in general. Although again, I HAVE been able to make 3 backups over the past couple weeks (but note, I have NOT been able to test those backups yet so I'm not sure if they're working; that's one of my next steps).

I've been through everything I could get my hands/eyes on re troubleshooting and setup and have implemented and/or checked everything I found that was suggested. I even called GoDaddy but they couldn't pinpoint issue.

Can you help with getting backups to run?

The problem is that GoDaddy is overpriced, underperforming and suffers from very tight limits. I can attempt to give you a workaround but mind you that a. the backup will be dead slow and b. you will need to find a time of the day the server is not obscenely overloaded (good luck with that) to run your backup. Or you can move your site to a much better host for roughly the same fee. Anyway, the workaround settings are:

Minimum execution time: 1 second
Maximum execution time: 5 seconds
Runtime bias: 50%

If that doesn't work try:

Minimum execution time: 5 second
Maximum execution time: 2 seconds (yes, max is less than min, it's not a typo)
Runtime bias: 50%

But, as I said, your host is the real issue. They cram 3000 sites on a single machine (industry average: 500) and impose unrealistic restrictions on scripts running on this overcrowded server. In the end of the day your site is sluggish and throws a lot of errors. Try a decent host like CloudAccess.net, SiteGround or Rochen for a change. The performance difference is a true eye opener. Also remember that search engines penalise slow sites by ranking them lower. It's not just a matter of being able to backup your site reliably, it's also a matter of making your site rank better in search engines.

Thank you! I just need something to work temporarily. I will be moving site to client's location at Your-Site hopefully in a few days.

Any words of advice for Your-Site hosting?

I've never used them or had any clients using them. Your guess is as good as mine.
