Description of my issue:

Hi. I'm trying to troubleshoot my backup situation. Everything works fine if I just backup my Joomla. But, if I add an extra database definition, the newly added database gets backed up just fine, but Joomla does not.

I do get this error in the php logs:

[130204 16:42:33] PHP WARNING on line 314 in file <root>/administrator/components/com_akeeba/akeeba/drivers/mysqli.php:
[130204 16:42:33] mysqli_query() expects parameter 1 to be mysqli, null given

Not sure if that's what is causing the problem. As far as I know, both databases are mysqli. The extra database that I'm trying to backup is Anahita (anahitapolis.com). The settings for database type in my joomla config is set to mysqli.

I have attached a copy of two akeeba backup logs, one which shows the successful backup of the joomla db when no extra db definition is set. The other is the log from when the extra db definition is set and the joomla db fails to backup. I'd appreciate any pointers. Thanks.

I have to ask a stupid question. How exactly did you add the extra database? I am under the impression that instead of using Multiple Database Definitions (what you should do) you used the database override options in the Configuration page (what I think you did but you should not do).

I used Multiple Database Definitions. All of the database override options in the Configuration page are blank, except MySQLi is listed as the databse driver.

I only see one database backup being attempted. Can you please try creating a new backup profile?

Well, that was easy. Creating a new profile did it. Thanks for the help.

One last request... would it be possible to delete the backup logs attached to this ticket? I'd rather not have them publicly accessible.

Sure thing! I just removed the attachment from your original post.
