Is it possible to create with AKeeba a clone of my site ?

mysite.com/clone?

Everything is updated

Clone my site should be the title,

Of course you can. It's dead easy. Backup your site. Restore it inside the clone directory. Remember to fill in the new database connection informaiton (Akeeba Backup Installer will remind you anyway).

Restoring the backup and cloning your site... they're actually the same thing :) Akeeba Backup was designed to transfer sites. There is one specific subcase: if the source and the target site are the same it's a backup, hence the "Backup" part of Akeeba Backup's name.

As for the instructions, our videos are fine, so is our Quick Start Guide ;)

One question out off topic,

how can i make akeeba to use more cpu from akeeba settings ?

By lowering the "Minimum execution time" and increasing the "Maximum execution time". If your server doesn't have a CPU usage limit you can try these settings:

  • Minimum execution time: 0
  • Maximum execution time: 45
  • Runtime bias: 90
  • Disable step break after large files: CHECKED
  • Disable step break in finalization: CHECKED
  • Set an infinite execution time: CHECKED

Please note that this is like putting a triple NOX in your car without changing your tyres and brakepads: the resulting contraption is very prone to crashing in flames! If you see the backup crashing, try unchecking the three checkboxes I mentioned and use more conservative values for the execution times and runtime bias.
