Joomla! version: (unknown) 1.5.23
PHP version: (unknown) 5.2.17
MySQL version: (unknown)5.5.19?
Host: (optional, but it helps us help you) existing one not known - new one is hostgator
Akeeba Backup version: (unknown) 3.2.7

EXTREMELY IMPORTANT: Please attach a ZIP file containing your Akeeba Backup log file in order for us to help you with any backup or restoration issue. If the file is over 2Mb, please upload it on your server and post a link to it.

Description of my issue:

Β

  • I am trying to move an old joomla site to hostgator. I am using akeeba and kickstart because i do not have cpanel/data base access.
  • I install akeeba 3.2.7 - i tried updating in the admin but will not allow me to - joomla version too old I assume
  • the back up I performed produces a jpa file that is only 178K - this seems rather small to me - I am used to seeing larger files
  • i created datebase on new host
    • uploaded jpa file from old site
    • uploaded kickstart files
    • attempted restore which freezes at the DB restore window at 0%Β

Is this because the jpa file is so small? Is it not backing everything up? Akeeba has always seemed to be plug and play for me. I have never had to do anythjing but hit the back up now button to produce the back up files.

Any help is apprecaited

Please uninstall your current Akeeba Backup version and install version 3.4.3. That's the last version of Akeeba Backup available for Joomla! 1.5. Take a new backup. It should be several megabytes (the minimum size for a Joomla! 1.5 site without any content and extensions installed is just over 5Mb). You can then restore that on Hostgator.
