Akeeba Backup version: (unknown) Core 3.6.12

EXTREMELY IMPORTANT: Please attach a ZIP file containing your Akeeba Backup log file in order for us to help you with any backup or restoration issue. If the file is over 2Mb, please upload it on your server and post a link to it.

Description of my issue:
I have Akeeba Core already installed and a back-up taken. Have upgraded to Pro and Admin Tools. Uploaded Admin Tools via Joomla Extension Manager and applied the ID with no problems.  Tried to do the same for Akeeba Pro and each time the server returns the error message ' Unable to OPen Archive'  I looked at the notes in troubleshooting which says disable system restore points but as my initial installation is 'Core' there are no System Restore points.

Tried searching the web and one possible answer may be that my server is running PHP5.2 and not 5.3 (they are upgrading to 5.3 2nd Feb) but not convinced this is the issue.

Any advice please.  Regards Nigel

It sounds like you have not installed the Akeeba Backup Professional release correctly. Please follow the procedure outlined here: https://www.akeebabackup.com/documentation/akeeba-backup-documentation/upgrade-to-pro.html

Pay attention to the fact that you have to do this installation twice.

Then follow these instructions to set up your Download ID correctly to Akeeba Backup Professional: https://www.akeebabackup.com/instructions/1435-akeeba-backup-download-id.html

Pay attention to the last two paragraphs.
