Using Site Transfer wizard - will fail on transfer - random file - I've done this 7 time and it has failed on different file every time.

Everybody will be able to see its contents. Do not include usernames, passwords or any other sensitive information.

Using Site Transfer wizard - will fail on transfer - random file - I've done this 7 time and it has failed on different file every time.

It looks like the remote FTP server misunderstands the site transfer (which closes and reopens the FTP connection between backup step breaks which are necessary to avoid PHP timeouts) as a denial of service attack and refuses to open a connection. Simply put, this means that you can't use the Site Transfer Wizard against that server. But you can use a regular backup and one of the following workarounds:
Remember that Akeeba Backup Installer (the restoration script included in every backup) doesn't care if you are restoring to the same or a different server.

Thanks - I ended up ftpp'ing the backup archive to the new client server and used kickstart.
