Mandatory information about my setup:

Joomla! version: 2.5.8
PHP version: 5.4.10
MySQL version: (unknown)
Host: 1and1.co.uk
Akeeba Backup version: 3.6.11

Akeeba Admin tools version: 2.4.4

EXTREMELY IMPORTANT: Please attach a ZIP file containing your Akeeba Backup log file in order for us to help you with any backup or restoration issue. If the file is over 2Mb, please upload it on your server and post a link to it.

Description of my issue:  My one click updates are not workling on either admin tools or backup.  I have checked the download id which seems right.  Is there something obvious I've done stupid? 

The message is :

 

Unable to open archive

Extracting the update package failed. Please try updating the extension manually.

Please do follow our instructions for entering the Download ID to the letter. The very last paragraph is extremely important. Please do carry them out in full. It doesn't matter that you think that it's unnecessary to go through them. Trust me. I know what I'm saying. I'm getting the same kind of support requests every time I release a new version and these instructions are the only one and very well tested method to solve this issue, but only if you follow them in their entirety.

PS: There's a very small possibility that it's a server firewall issue, but I haven't had any other clients using 1&1 reporting that. This means that this small possibility is most likely non-existent.
