I have read the related troubleshooter articles above before posting (Akeeba Backup throws an AJAX Error, 500 Internal Server Error or the backup does not complete)? Yes
Have I searched the tickets before posting? Yes
Have I read the documentation before posting (which pages?)? Yes
Joomla! version:

2.5.8 and 1.5.26
PHP version: 5.3.17
MySQL version: 5.1.65
Host: Interactive Online
Akeeba Backup version: 3.6.10

EXTREMELY IMPORTANT: Please attach a ZIP file containing your Akeeba Backup log file in order for us to help you with any backup or restoration issue. If the file is over 2Mb, please upload it on your server and post a link to it.

Description of my issue:

Used Akeeba Back Up for a number of years with no problems. Now two of my sites will not finish backing up and throws an AJAX Error.

AJAX Loading Error
HTTP Status: 500 (Internal Server Error)
Internal status: error
XHR ReadyState: 4
Raw server response:

Its not the server settings as my other websites on the same server is working fine with Akeeba Backup.  The two sites I'm having problems with also has Akeeba Admin tools installed

I have attached the log fle for your review.

Please try the following settings:

Minimum execution time: 1 second
Maximum execution time: 7 seconds
Runtime bias: 75%

If this doesn't work please try

Minimum execution time: 5 second
Maximum execution time: 3 seconds (yes, max is less than min, it's not a typo)
Runtime bias: 50%

If the backup still fails please ZIP and attach the new log file.

You will have to talk to your host. For some reason they can only tell you their server is killing the backup script a few seconds into the process.

Thanks, I FINNALY got the problem solved.  The host server was putting a 'kill order' on my sites as it was running a script for longer than 60 sek.  We are busy sorting out the issue as this was never an issue in the two years I have been with them. Otherwise I'll will move to another host.

OK, that makes sense – I mean, it explains why the backup was being killed. Yep, the situation is not cool, but at least it's something you can work with your host.
