Akeeba 3.6.9

Joomla 2.5.8

PHP 5.3.18

I was succesful to make an Akeeba backup and it is showing in "administer backup files"
When I want to download this file via FTP I don't see it in administrator > components (I do not even see the Akeeba component)

An other strange thing is whan I look at the system information at "rights" i see that configuration.php is marked red not writeble.

Thanks,

Ed

Love the Akeeba product and have positive experience on several sites.

It has helped me a lot in moving sites around and restoring after beeing hacked.

Regarding the missing(?) backup file I do not understand what you mean. If you are using post-processing, e.g. upload to Dropbox, and you have enabled the delete archive after upload feature (by default it's enabled) then the actual archive is being deleted from your server. Otherwise you're looking at the wrong directory; please look in the output directory you have defined in the profile you are backing up with.

The missing menu item is caused by a known Joomla! bug. Please consult our installation troubleshooting page (it applies to updates, too!) under "Joomla! 1.6/1.7/2.5 installation problems". Please note that on some sites it may be necessary to rename the administrator/components/com_akeeba and/or the components/com_akeeba directories in order for the installation to be completed successfully.

The configuration.php permissions are not touched by Akeeba Backup, therefore I cannot provide any assistance with that. Please consult the Joomla! documentation and its official forum.

Thank you very much Nicholas for your quick reply.

It turned out that when looking on the server again the next day in order to FTP the Akeeba backup to a save place, that now the file is visible!

The same happened with an other website. I could see the Akeeba backup file only the next day.

Both websites are hosted at Siteground.

Issue solved.

Thanks again,

Ed

This could be a corrupt session issue. Whenever in doubt log out of your site, clear your cookies (at least those coming from your site), restart your browser and log back in.
