Joomla! version: (2.5.8)
PHP version: (5.2.17)
MySQL version: (5.5.28-log)
Host: (blue host)
Akeeba Backup version: (3.6.9)

EXTREMELY IMPORTANT: Please attach a ZIP file containing your Akeeba Backup log file in order for us to help you with any backup or restoration issue. If the file is over 2Mb, please upload it on your server and post a link to it.

Description of my issue:

Hello...i just updated, via Akeeba control panel in Joomla backend, from 3.5.2 to 3.6.9. Now, when i upload zipped module extension via ext mgr i get a blank page with this url:

http://www.sitename/administrator/index.php?option=com_akeeba&view=installer&task=extract&4cd81ab8a255979e0936306462e06dd5=1

Is this due to my php version or something else? I wanted to revert to 3.5.2 but it's not on your release page, only 3.4.3 is. To revert to that i may get same blank screen, correct? Also, not sure if i can install older version over new er one via ext mgr or if it would be done some other way.

Would like to either resolve 3.6.9 issue or get back to 3.5.2 or earlier, more stable version. Backups with 3.6.9 say "ok", but can't test due to local MAMP test server being down (unrelated to this).

Thanks for any help.

First disable the "System - System Restore Points" plugin. Then download Akeeba Backup Professional 3.6.9 and install it through Extensions, Manage Extensions. Please do that twice (yes, there is a reason for that).

thanks for quick reply.

I disabled plug-in, but nowhere in "extension mgr: manage" do i see option to install/upload anything. I assume you were asking me to download 3.6.9 zip file from your site and install here? Do you mean the normal "Ext Mgr: install" page?

Would it be possible for me to mean any other page in Joomla!? There's one and only one page from where extensions can be installed. So, yes, of course that's the page I mean.

seems to be working now. thanks. Do i go back and enable the Restore Points plug-in?

Yes, you should now try to enable the System Restore Points plugin. However, I would defintiely recommend trying to install/update several extensions and see how it behaves. If it hangs with a whitepage on one or a couple of them, that's normal – not all extensions are compatible with SRP. If it hangs on all extensions, you definitely have a problem. My guess is that it will work, but it's always best to test than assume :)
