Description of my issue:

Hello, we are using Akeeba Backup Professional 3.6.9 (2012-11-10)

Our system informations are:

PHP Built On Linux CSBW031 2.6.32-5-amd64 #1 SMP Sun May 6 04:00:17 UTC 2012 x86_64 Database Version 5.1.63-0+squeeze1 Database Collation utf8_general_ci PHP Version 5.3.3-7+squeeze14 Web Server Apache/2.2.16 (Debian) WebServer to PHP Interface apache2handler Joomla! Version Joomla! 2.5.8 Stable [ Ember ] 8-November-2012 14:00 GMT Joomla! Platform Version Joomla Platform 11.4.0 Stable [ Brian Kernighan ] 03-Jan-2012 00:00 GMT

Why the Administer Backup Files tab, in the right profile, is empty?
In the backup folder there are all our backup files obtained throught an automatic backup.
Just now I try to have backup (only database to speed the process), by hand, from the backend, and the file appears in the folder but the Backup Progress screen seem to be frozen and don't progress over "Updating statistics" phase. The server response restart from 0 after 3 second. It seem to be an infinite loop.

The Administer Backup Files page is empty for the same reason your backup fails: the #__ak_stats table is missing. I have seen that before on sites upgraded from Joomla! 1.5. Anyway, the solution is simple: uninstall Akeeba Backup and reinstall it. You will lose all existing backups and settings in the process, so please make sure that you download your backup archives and export your backup Profiles.

I attach here the log aftr stopped the backup process.

Please, I am working on a professional site, help me to solve the problem without loose the settings and reinstall the component...

If I try to unzip the component and overwrite the files? Or there is some suggestion for actions to the database?

Thank you.

You can fix it without losing anything, but you have to take the scenic route.

Download Akeeba Backup's installation ZIP archive. Extract it locally. Find the file backend/sql/installation/mysql/install.sql. Open it with a text editor like Notepad. Replace #__ with your site's database table prefix and save it to your desktop.

Tp: if you want to find your site's database table rpefix, go to your site's administrator back-end, click on Global Configuration, click on the Server tab and look towards the top right corner. There is a setting reading "Database Tables Prefix". Copy it, including the underscore.

Now use phpMyAdmin on your site. Make sure that the abc_ak_stats table (where abc_ is your site's database table prefix) does not exist. If it does, delete it (select it and from the dropdown at the bottom left choose "With selected: drop"). No use the Import tab to import your modified install.sql from your desktop.

After making sure that the backup works, please go in Administer Backup Files and use the Discover and Import feature to import the existing backup archives back into the Administer Backup Files page.
