Hello,

I made an update to the latest version using the built in Joomla update process. The true probably not the best idea.

Now I have only a blank page when I run the backend.

Google Chrome has communicated to me at least the following:

Error 324 (net :: ERR_EMPTY_RESPONSE):

Why is that?

Thank you.

You should never use Joomla!'s built-in updater with Professional versions of Akeeba Backup and Admin Tools. It simply breaks the component.

Instead, please download the latest version and install it on your site using Extensions, Manage Extensions without uninstalling your existing version.

If you are using Akeeba Backup Professional and you have enabled the System Restore Points feature you will have to disable the "System - System Restore Points" plugin first. If you do not see that plugin in your system and your site's interface is NOT in English, try searching for "PLG_SRP_TITLE" instead. Disable that plugin and install the latest version of the affected component(s).

OMG i can't get into the backend to use the extensions installer.

Is there a way to do it manually?

Yes, of course. Remove the following folders:
- administrator/components/com_akeeba EXCEPT the administrator/components/com_akeeba/backup directory and the administrator/components/com_akeeba/akeeba/serverkey.php file. If you remove that directory and that file you will lose your existing backups and/or settings.
- components/com_akeeba
- administrator/modules/mod_akadmin (this is most likely what prevents you from logging in)
- media/com_akeeba
- plugins/system/plg_srp
- plugins/system/plg_akeebaupdatecheck
- plugins/system/plg_aklazy
- plugins/system/plg_oneclickaction
Now you can log back in to your site's backend and re-install Akeeba Backup.
