Joomla! version: 2.5.4
PHP version: 5.3
MySQL version: 5.5.23-55
Host: Host gator
Akeeba Backup version: 3.6.4

EXTREMELY IMPORTANT: Please attach a ZIP file containing your Akeeba Backup log file in order for us to help you with any backup or restoration issue. If the file is over 2Mb, please upload it on your server and post a link to it.

Description of my issue:
I initially could not even get Akkeba to work at all after loading it. i got a white screen when I clicked backup. In Chrome, it gave me the ajax error. I could not get it to work and I have spent hours on this and I am tired of trying. So I upgraded to 3.6 and made sure I was running PHP 5.3.

Now when I try to backup or go to the configuration page I get a 500 error and under that it says:
Layout admin:com_akeeba/config/form not found

I found somethign on your site that said to delete some file under library bu that did not work.

Please help, most frustrated. Never had a problem before with this product.

Many thanks,
Houston

There is a known issue with the FOF library packaged with Akeeba Backup 3.6.4, Akeeba Subscriptions 2.4.1 and Akeeba Release System 2.0.3. The affected versions have been pulled off-line. Please upgrade these components to their latest versions. At the time of this writing that's Akeeba Backup 3.6.5, Akeeba Subscriptions 2.4.2 and ARS 2.0.4.

If you are using Akeeba Backup Professional and you have enabled the System Restore Points feature you will have to disable the "System - System Restore Points" plugin first. If you do not see that plugin in your system and your site's interface is NOT in English, try searching for "PLG_SRP_TITLE" instead. Disable that plugin and install the latest version of the affected component(s).

If you no longer have access to the affected component's Live Update page, please download the latest version and install it on your site using Extensions, Manage Extensions without uninstalling your existing version.
