Quartermaster
Mandatory information about my setup:

Have I read the related troubleshooter articles above before posting (which pages?)? All of them
Have I searched the tickets before posting? Relentlessly
Have I read the documentation before posting (which pages?)? The green ones
Joomla! version: 2.5.6
PHP version: Good question
MySQL version: See above
Host: My own little server
Akeeba Backup version: 3.6.3

EXTREMELY IMPORTANT: Please attach a ZIP file containing your Akeeba Backup log file in order for us to help you with any backup or restoration issue. If the file is over 2Mb, please upload it on your server and post a link to it.

Description of my issue:
Akeeba is set to delete backups older than 31 days, but does not do so on Amazon S3, as I discovered when my bill arrived today. :-(
Is this normal, or did I miss a setting somewhere?
(It doesn't delete them from S3 when I do a manual "delete files" either.

First, you have to make sure that you have actually checked the box to enable day-based quotas.

Then, there might be a misconception: Akeeba Backup will only delete old backup archives as long as the database records for them exist on your site. If you have set up Akeeba Backup to only keep, let's say, only the last 10 obsolete records then the database only keeps track of the last 10 backups. Your day-based quota being 31 days, it means that Akeeba Backup never "sees" any old backups to delete, leaving everything in your Amazon S3 account.
