Description of my issue:
I just saw in the changelog that you are recycling the mysql connection to avoid problems with hosts loosing connections, which was what I experienced.
So I thought I would give it a go to see if it worked now.
But it complains about the mysqli not being loaded now as far as I understand it?

That was the first draft of the solution. After some more data from live sites I found that I needed to do something more. I have added the new bugfix in the latest dev release. Can you give it a go and report your results?

Looks much better, I still see some errors in the beginning of the log, and at the end, but as far as I can see it has completed the backup AND cleaned up in the old files...

These warnings are expected. The fix I made detects those warnings (which mean that the MySQL server connection has been terminated by the database server) and re-establish it. Well, it works just fine. Thank you very much for the feedback!
