Joomla! version: 2.5.6

MySQL version: 5.0.95-community

Akeeba Backup version: Akeeba Backup Professional 3.6.3 (2012-08-24)

Description of my issue:
Trying to exclude tables from a database outside my joomla site. This works with one of the two (alexande_beob) but not with the other (alexande_apflora). I get the error in aakeba_error.txt. I did see that one of the tables includes a utf8 character Ü ("DomainTPopKontrIdBiotÜbereinst"). Could this be the problem?

Seems like the backup (including all files of alexande_apflora) worked fine though. At least that's my impression from the log.

Uups, seems I can only attach one file. The log is here: www.barbalex.ch/downloads/AkeebaBackupDebugLog.zip

It turns out that the database server does not report back the name of this particular table. Instead, it returns null?! I can replicate this issue locally, as you can see in the attached screenshot. My only guess is that there's something wrong with the database default collation or the encoding used in the MySQL connection. I really have no idea how to help with that :(
