Description of my issue:
is akeeba remote still supported? where do i find it and how do i configure. it seems to have been pulled

Akeeba Remote Control (the GUI application I assume you're referring to) had been discontinued back in May 2011 and removed from our site eleven months later. There was no point making it available anymore as it wouldn't run on modern systems and wouldn't work properly with the latest Akeeba Backup releases. Since you have Akeeba Backup Professional, the best alternative is creating a backup profile which uploads the archive to Dropbox or Box.net, essentially having the desktop clients of either of these cloud storage solutions take care of automatic backup downloads, the reason Remote Control was created for in the first place.
