Joomla! version: 2.5.6
PHP version: 5.2.8

Akeeba Backup version: 3.6.2

Description of my issue:
Hi, after upgrading to v3.6.2, I get a a warning on a big yellow box saying:
Akeeba Backup could not determine the permissions of the media/com_akeeba directory.

Please do one of the following:

1. Activate Joomla!'s FTP mode in Global Configuration
2. Change the permissions of the media/com_akeeba directory and all of its subdirectories to 0755 and all of its files to 0644 using your FTP client.

I have checked FTP is active and the media/com_akeeba folder has 755 for all folders/sub-folders and 644 for files.

There was no error in 3.6.1, can you please what could be causing this?

Try removing the media/com_akeeba directory from your site, then install the component again, without uninstalling anything. Does that work now?

I tried that, but now I just get a screen as per attached screenshot. The PHP error was there before as well since I am running v5.2.8.

Sorry for the untypical delay. I just realised that two weeks ago I had network issues and half of my replies never got posted :( If you don't get a reply back from me within 48 hours and there is no notice on the site saying that I am out of office please send back a reply to remind me of the unanswered ticket.

This issue has been addressed in Akeeba Backup 3.6.3. The PHP version warning is much more subtle and more informative. Akeeba Backup 3.6.x still supports PHP 5.2. I've put that warning in place to notify users that future versions (towards Christmas, most likely) will eventually stop supporting PHP 5.2 as it's been end of life since January 6th, 2011.
