Description of my issue:
Hi,

I have the same problem as found here: https://www.akeebabackup.com/component/ats/ticket/akeeba-backup-3x/13186-hang-at-updating-statistics-during-backup.html but for joomla 2.5.6. The backup hangs at the end when "Updating the statistic".

What is strange is that i did a fresh install. And indeed the problem was that the tables were not created.

But i would like to add to the solution given in the other post, that reinstalling did not do it for me. I had to uninstall the component and reinstall it. Then it worked right away.
It was ok for me to uninstall the extension as i had no previous important backup to keep. But keep in mind that your backup will be deleted if you uninstall Akeeba Backup.

A bit strange but can be fixed easily.

@dev: i really don't understand how this happened. I started with a fresh install of joomla 2.5.6, built my site and then install akeeba 3.6.1 to backup so i can upload it.

Please try installing the component again, without uninstalling it first. If this still doesn't work please contact your host and ask them to allow your database user to use ALTER TABLE commands.
