Joomla! version: 1.5.26
PHP version: 5.3.15
MySQL version: 5.5.24
Akeeba Backup version: 3.4.3

Description of my issue:

Hi Nicholas,

When setting up Dropbox post processing I click the button "Authentication step 1" but nothing happens: no pop-up or modal box (I also have J2.5.6 sites with Akeeba 3.5.2 so I can tell the difference). As noting happens in Step 1, clicking Step 2 results in this message:

ERROR: Could not complete authentication; please retry

I hope you can help me.

Kind regards, Frits

I've noticed that this issue is present on some of my 1.5.26 sites but not on all. I cannot see what makes the difference.

I think you have a popup blocker or an Internet security software blocking the pop-up. Step 1 does nothing more than open a popup dialog with a Dropbox URL.

Hi Nicholas,

The problem was very persistent in two sites, while other sites had no problems at all, using the same browser. In the end I have deinstalled and reinstalled Akeeba and this solved the problem.

Thanks, Frits

Hm, sounds like a botched update. Sometimes that happens. When Joomla!'s extensions installer sees a file or folder it can't write to it ignores it without a warning or error message. This misleads you into believing that the extension was update when, in fact, it isn't :(
