Have you really read the documentation? It clearly states:
Joomla!™ and PHP version compatibilities are detailed in our Version Compatibility matrix.

According to the version compatibility matrix there is no Akeeba Backup version compatible with PHP version 4.x, but you wrote:
PHP version: 4.3.11

The first version of the backup component under the Akeeba Backup name (3.0.a1) was released in February 2010 and had a minimum PHP version requirement of 5.1.6 and Joomla! version 1.5.11. That's one ancient site you've got there, dating back in the first months of 2008. There's no way you can run Akeeba Backup on it right now. You have to first upgrade it to Joomla! 1.5.26 and PHP 5.2.7 or later (ideally, PHP 5.3.14).

Nick,
You are correct... I re-read it last night. I remember originally reading minimum of 5.X php a couple of months ago when I first started using Akeeba. I have 2 sites left both are on php 4.x and I simply forgot the requirements. I was hoping that you could tell me a work around. I need to get this site off this server immediately. Are you aware of another package to use that support 4.x of php for Joomla. I am under pressure... please advise.

You should be able to us an old version of JoomlaPack, the predecessor to Akeeba Backup. I think that version 1.2.3 (not 1.2.4) should work with your site. You can get it from http://joomlacode.org/gf/project/jpack/frs. It goes without saying that these four year old versions are not supported. Moreover I would recommend upgrading the site to 1.5.26 before transferring it. The chances are that the new server won't be such an old relic and poor old Joomla! 1.5.2 won't even run on it.
