Description of my issue:

I recently noticed, when my serer ran out of space, that akeeba was not respecting the maximum age and quantity quotas. To ensure it only stored what I want it I set it to 7 days and 14 copies as I do 2 backups a day.

Currently its sitting with 13 days worth of backups on my server.

My logs are all empty as I set them to only log errors

The maximum age and quantity quotas are calculated and applied per backup profile. If I understand correctly you have two or more profiles. You are counting the total number of files, not the number of files per profile. Also, you have to make sure that all involved profiles have the same quota settings.

Finally, I'd have to take a look at a log file with full debugging information to tell you what is going on. Without a log file I can guess and it will be just my word against yours. What can I say? I've tested those two features before releasing 3.5.2 and they do work. What may be the problem with your site? I have no idea. Without a log I have to guess and I am a really lousy guesser :)
