Mandatory information about my setup:

Have I read the documentation before posting (which pages?)? Yes
Joomla! version: 1.5.26
PHP version: 5.2.9
MySQL version: 5.0.95-community
Host: Linux
Akeeba Backup version: 3.3.13

EXTREMELY IMPORTANT: Please attach a ZIP file containing your Akeeba Backup log file in order for us to help you with any backup or restoration issue. If the file is over 2Mb, please upload it on your server and post a link to it.

Description of my issue:

1. I have just noted that recently my ability to upload backups to S3 is intermittent. I have been getting the follow error.

AEUtilAmazons3::uploadMultipart(): [55] SSL_write() returned SYSCALL, errno = 104
Failed to process file /../../public_html/administrator/components/com_akeeba/backup/site-20120722-214104.jpa
Post-processing interrupted -- no more files will be transferred.

Even after completing a backup that failed to upload. I go to 'Administer Backups' and try 'Transfer Archive'. Akeeba Backup seems to indicate this has succeeded succesfully however the file does not appear in the S3 bucket.

2. Not sure if it is related but I am currently running 3.3.13. I have tried to update to the latest 3.5.2. If I do this from within Akeeba Backup I get the following errors.

JFolder::files: Path is not a folder
ERRORNOTFINDJOOMLAXMLSETUPFILE
and
Invalid package type. The update can not proceed.

If I try to update from Extension Manager I get the following error.

Error! Could not find a Joomla! XML setup file in the package.

Hello Raoul,

Allow me to begin answering your questions in reverse order. Regarding the installation error, Akeeba Backup 3.5.x and later does not support Joomla! 1.5. The latest version available for your Joomla! and PHP version is Akeeba Backup Professional 3.4.3. Please install it on your site before going on with the solution below.

The issue you are experiencing is common when we're trying to perform multi-part upload of large files to Amazon S3. As noted in our troubleshooting guide for Amazon S3 issues you need to disable multipart uploads and enable Akeeba Backup's splitting of archvie files. Please follow the link I gave you and read the last three paragraphs. Ignore the rest of that page, it doesn't apply to your case. You only to follow the instructions in the last three paragraphs.
