Joomla! version: 1.5.26
PHP version: (unknown)
MySQL version: (unknown)
Host: Hostgator
Akeeba Backup version: 3.4.3

EXTREMELY IMPORTANT: Please attach a ZIP file containing your Akeeba Backup log file in order for us to help you with any backup or restoration issue. If the file is over 2Mb, please upload it on your server and post a link to it.

Description of my issue:

I made a copy of my existing site without any problem to a new account in my server but the idea of making this backup is to have a separate site for testing and making changes in a new template but any change I make in the new copy reflects in the original site and I don´t want that to happen so please let me know any solution. I created a new DB and username the second time I tried to install it in order to have different settings but still didn't work :(
Really appreciate any solution ASAP!

One of the following two problems occurred:
1. You did use the old site's database connection information when restoring your site, despite the big warning dialog. It doesn't suffice creating a new database, you have to enter its connection information in the database restoration page as well.
2. It is possible that the configuration.php file was unwritable. In this case Akeeba Backup Installer gives you instructions about editing the configuration.php file and pasting the new contents manually. If you ignore them your restored site will remain connected to the old site's database. In this case it suffices to edit your configuration.php file and change the database connection information.
