Mandatory information about my setup:

Have I read the related troubleshooter articles above before posting (which pages?)? Yes

Have I read the documentation before posting (which pages?)? Yes
Joomla! version: 2.5
PHP version: 5.4
MySQL version: 5
Host: 1und1
Akeeba Backup version: Professional 3.5.2

EXTREMELY IMPORTANT: Please attach a ZIP file containing your Akeeba Backup log file in order for us to help you with any backup or restoration issue. If the file is over 2Mb, please upload it on your server and post a link to it.

Description of my issue:
Your cronjob works only with php as module and not as cgi. By a multilingual page your your front-end backup do not work. I cannot change the php from cgi to module.
What can I do? I have payed you and cannot use the backup with a cronjob. Please help?

Our documentation, which is available free of charge even before you subscribe, clearly states that you need the CLI (not module!) version of the PHP binary to run our CRON jobs. It has said so since March 2010 when the first CRON script implementation was included in Akeeba Backup. Besides there is absolutely no host which doesn't offer a PHP CLI binary. You may have to insist on asking your host, usually escalating the support request to a real technician (not a script-reading first level support guy). Let me reiterate. There is NO host which can't provide PHP CLI. There are no technical reasons to do that.

Regarding the second part of the issue you report, having a multilingual site (not page!) does not cause any issue with Akeeba Backup's front-end backup. I have tested both the core multilingual feature and Falang. What can cause issues with front-end backup is your SEF component. Most SEF components can be configured to ignore Akeeba Backup and not attempt to generate SEF URLs for its front-end backup calls. In this case you need to contact your SEF component's providers.

What I see here is two issues, one with your host and one with your SEF component, which can be easily overcome should you request support from the third party whose service/software is involved. Since I have not set up your host and not written your SEF component I can't help you in any other way besides pointing you to the correct direction.

Thanks, for your answer. For the cronjob I make more tests.

My site runs with multilingual and I do not use Falang or other tools. I have a dummy menu and 3 other menus for German, Russian and English language. After I enter the url with no language joomla goes to the german page like this: www.mypage.de/de/ . I use cronjob.de to start your backup from the front-end. Joomla change the link to the language de (see before) and cannot found your cronjob.
After my tests with your cronjob I write.

First make sure that you don't have a menu item for Akeeba Backup (if you do it won't work). Then double check the front-end backup URL you're using.

Finally, please note that the front-end backup works by issuing redirections. I am sure that cronjob.de won't work with that. You'll have to use webcron.org instead. Please read the documentation for the details.
