Hej,

I have the following error since a couple of days. In the beginning everything works like a charm for a couple of weeks. The problems started from time to time. Sometimes the backup failed and after a retry, it worked.

But now I get the error every time I try to make a backup.
The only Extensions I have installed are SEF ADVANCE, Yoo Widgetkit, RSforms, Xmap, EasyBlog, Akeeba Backup and Akeeba Admin Tools.

Hopefully you can help me. I love AkeebaBackup....

Thanks in advance
Bastian

Hello Bastian,

I believe that your log file, even ZIPped, is over 2Mb hence the error you get trying to attach it. Can you please upload it to your site or on a public Dropbox directory and paste me a link here? I really can't know what is going on unless I see the entire log file.

Hej Nicholas,

thanks for your fast answer. You were right, the size of this file is 2.6 MB.
I copied the file in my public dropbox folder.

Thank you for the link to the log file. Here's what you have to do. Go to Akeeba Backup's Configuration page and set the following settings:
- Minimum execution time: 1 second
- Maximum execution time: 7 seconds
- Runtime bias: 75%
This will make the backup a little slower but it should be able to complete.

He he, it's experience talking :) I saw in your log file that you have a PHP memory limit of 64Mb. It also seemed to me that you have a fast server. This means that the memory usage per second is very high, ending up busting the PHP memory limit. The easy way to lower memory usage is having the backup split in shorter steps. I guessed that the values I gave you would be correct. If they weren't, I'd give you slightly smaller numbers.

The only way for someone to "read" that in the log file is having read hundreds of log files and knowing how the backup engine works. If this wasn't so fuzzy, there would be a way to automate that and I'd have the component fix itself automatically.
