Description of my issue:

The backup works sporadically when using Amazon S3. it seems to only work once in a while. Can you tell me what you believe is wrong?

According to your log file the backup stop while still in the database backup phase. The use of Amazon S3 is irrelevant in this case. You just have a backup which does not complete.

Given the HTTP Status of 0, my educated guess is that you have Internet connectivity issues or third party software is blocking the requests between your browser and your server. Your connection drops momentarily and the backup can't complete. If you are using a 3G connection or Wi-Fi try connecting to your router with a physical cable. If the problem persists, please try backing up from a different PC, with a different browser and connected to the Internet with a different Internet provider.
