Hello!
All the time Akeeba was working very well but for a unknown reason it doesn´t work anymore. I don´t now why.
I´ve tried all the things provided in the quickstart and troubleshooter guide.

Everytime I try making a backup I immediately get an AJAX Error when reaching the point "backuing up files"

Thannx for your help

You have a big, old backup .jpa archive file in your site's root. Please remove it.

You're welcome :)

PS: It's also a good idea to run the Configuration Wizard after deleting the file as I suspect that some of your time limit settings need tweaking. The Configuration Wizard tweaks them automatically when you run it.

yes, you´re right.

now it stops after having backuped about 73% (instead of 50%)
I´ve runned the wizard several times but it still doesn´t work

(here is the new log file...)

I see. You're definitely running out of disk space. You can try deleting older backups, remove any unused files or buy more space from your host.

oops.

ok, I´ll do that

user51839
hmm.
I´ve logged in at Strato.de

they tell me I´ve only 529 MB of my 3000MB in use

also I´ve deleted two other (old) joomla installations but it still doesn´t work.
:(

Have you tried running the Configuration Wizard? Strato.de also imposes a maximum filesize restriction which manifests itself the same way as running out of disk space. The Config Wiz will detect it and work around it.

This leaves us with either running out of disk space or the server having a very strict CPU usage limit. Since we're 99.9% that it's not disk space, let's try a workaround:
Minimum execution time: 5 seconds
Maximum execution time: 3 seconds
Runtime bias: 50%
If that fails again, please send me the new log file.

Here is the log file...

Your host seems to have a very tight CPU usage limit. Let's try something else:
- Minimum execution time: 7 seconds
- Maximum execution time: 2 seconds
- Runtime bias: 50%
If this still doesn't work, go to the Configuration page, click the Configure button in the Archiver Engine and set the "Part size for split archives" to 5Mb.

If you still have a problem, please post back.
