Description of my issue:o
When I update components (example this morning is using the link in an admin tools update email to 2.2.9) the system restore points feature is not creating a restore point.

The same way of updating admintools on an old 1.5 site with AB 3.4.3 created the restore point ok.

The plugin is enabled. I just don't know why the restore point backup isn't firing.

Thanks for your help,

Dave

I'm not sure either. I've actually activated this plugin on all of my dev sites and it certainly fires when updating extensions, as designed. Here's a question. How do you install extensions' updates? If you use Joomla!'s update manager, it bypasses Akeeba Backup's SRP. You have to use the Extensions, Manage Extensions page to manually install the update package for the SRP to fire.

Thanks,

I don't use the Joomla update manager, normally the installer to update.

The issue this morning was related to the update fired by the automatic emails sent out to super admins via the autonotification from admin tools. In 3.4 it seemed to fire a restore point when clicking on the link in the email but in 3.5 it doesn't anymore. Did you change this behaviour?

I will try an update using the installer to double check that route.

You're right. If you use Live Update then SRP is not fired. I will have to check why that happens.
