Hi

First off, thank you so much for the amazing component, Akeeba Backup Pro (and Admin Tools!). Puts my mind at ease so much. Well worth the money!

Sorry if this sounds a silly question (I have searched the forums and also looked over the documentation a few times). I think I understand but just wanted to check with you because these backups are important...

The documentation mentions about having to lower the file size of split archives so that timeouts don't occur when uploading to DropBox. However I now use Box.net (because I have 50GB of storage with them) and was wondering if I still had to split the archive when uploading to Box.net? It doesn't mention it on the Box.net documentation but I wasn't sure if it was just a general PHP issue? I'd prefer not to have to split, or to have higher than 10MB file sizes for the split archives, but if it's required then so be it!

Many thanks

David

Hi David,

This bit of the instructions applies to all cloud storage providers, be it Dropbox, Amazon S3, Box.net or whatever. If you don't split the backup archives you may end up with a timeout error while uploading which manifests itself as an AJAX Loading Error.

That said, Dropbox has one more restriction compared to the other methods. The maximum file size is 150Mb. This is an API restriction. To the best of my knowledge Box.net does not have the same restriction. At least they do not mention any such restriction in their API documentation :)
