You can reply to posts, but old posts (over 30 days) are automatically closed. There is no point coming back to an ancient thread.

In order to understand what you are asking I need you to at least supply the following mandatory information:

Joomla! version:
PHP version:
Akeeba Backup version:

This will help me understand if you're using a new version of Akeeba Backup released within the last 40 days, which has a slightly different scheduling system and slightly different requirements.

It will also greatly help me if you tell me what the problem is, not only what you're using. I'm rather good at guessing, but not that good :)

Joomla! version: 2.5.4
PHP version: 5.3
Akeeba Backup vers 3.5.1

Sorry I was trying to reply to another users post from 10/06 so with 30 days. That is the command line you need to run in plesk. it took quite a long time to get it working properly. I couldn't see a reply option for the other post.

In Plesk you use the scheduled tasks to run the backup calling the different profiles. So for example I have a daily joomla backup including the database but without any images. A daily backup of any changes to the images folder and the twice-weekly backup of images only (8gb).

these are setup as three separate cron jobs in Plesk

No, you can't reply to other people's threads. Moreover, that thread is very, very, VERY old. Since Akeeba Backup 3.5.a1 the CRON script has changed. Please read our documentation, do not refer to old threads. I can obviously not edit all old support threads. I do update the documentation, though.

Please note that since Akeeba Backup 3.5.a1 we are using Joomla!'s JApplicationCli to deliver the command line backup scripts. As a result, you can no longer use the php-cgi binary. It is mandatory to use the PHP CLI binary. You have to ask your host for the exact path.

Finally, you have to use a double dash, not a single dash, for each option. For example, it's --profile, not -profile. Again, this is because we're using JApplicationCli for the CRON scripts.

The thread was only 9 days old. Anyway will look at the new commands. The old system is working ok. I had a lot of trouble trying to get cli working with plesk last time round.

There's no way this applied to version 3.5.x. Maybe we were discussing 3.3.13 or 3.4.3 with that user? Context is king when looking at old threads. It would help me if I knew which thread is that. I reply to seven hundreds of them every month.

It was thread 12602.I can confirm that new system works ok on plesk 10.2
command line for ubuntu plesk 10.2 is

/usr/bin/php /var/www/vhosts/xxx.com/httpdocs/cli/akeeba-backup.php --profile=1

To find path to php executable type "which php" in terminal this returns the path.
