attempting upload to amazon s3 settings:

backend message:

I can find no information on exactly how I do that....

I have no clue if you are referring to in akeebas settings or is this somewhere in amazons s3 settings...regardless of who the settings belong to...where are they...how do I do that?

this could not be less clear...and has turned into a major time suck

thanks

Please note that the interface of Akeeba Backup is designed to give you hints, not substitute the documentation. You can search the documentation (there is a link to it in the toolbar of the configuration page, it's the Help button) or even google it. Just go to Configuration, find the Archive Engine option, click the Configure button next to it, a new pane opens below and the "Part size for split archives" is right there.

That said, do note that the full instructions pertaining your request are found in chapter 6 (Step by step guides), first chapter (Backing up your site to a cloud storage service), second section (Basic configuration). It even explains why you need to do that. The idea behind this chapter is that many people would ask me how to set up backing up to a cloud storage engine. Therefore I detailed the instructions for the two most common cloud storage providers. Just like the rest of our documentation, it is designed to answer your questions before you know you even have them. You just have to read it before trying to use the component. It's much faster than asking me for support – which would inverse the time suck argument you gave in your post.

Please read the documentation. I don't say that to get rid of you. I say it because I honestly believe it will help you resolve your issues faster and make you proficient in using the component. One thing you might miss is that we also have a troubleshooting guide. If you get stuck somewhere there's a 95% chance your question is already answered there. Seeking an answer there means that you will most likely get an answer much faster than asking me. Faster is always better, right? :)
