Description of my issue:

Backup worked fine until today, via frontend daily cron job.

Only change was to change cPanel login password yesterday (AFTER backup completed).

Backup now fails backend and frontend.

TIA

p.s. the backend attempt fails with this error message:

"AEAbstractDump :: Database Error: Could not connect to MySQL"

You are using the Extra Databases Definitions feature to include databases other than the one used by your site. It seems that the connection information for that database have changed after your cPanel changes and Akeeba Backup can no longer connect to it. That's exactly what is Akeeba Backup is complaining about (the error message you mentioned) and that's exactly what I'm seeing in your log. You can go to the Extra Databases Definitions page and edit the connection information to your database.

Hi Nicholas

Thanks for the accurate info.

I had forgotten that the user db password was saved in the Extra DB feature.

Backup is now working properly.

Thank you for your quick advice
