Good Morning dear Nicolas,

we just bought the support package, because we are facing a serious issue. We host our customers websites at papaki.gr , hostmonster.com and OTEnet. To cut a long story short, the websites at papaki.gr and hostmonster.com (all those based on Rockettheme Joomla) started looking bad using Internet Explorer (ok with Firefox). Well, we thought we upload a backup and get over with it, but...

The Start button is not working.

Yes, it is a 3G connection.

locally, the PC DOES work, it does show the start button, on a Xampp server.

I suspect issues with the hosting providers.

Please try:

http://omodikia.gr/kickstart.php
http://panoutsos.gr/kickstart.php

If you confirm that it IS working on your PC, please advise as to further steps.

Thank you very much,

Spiros Anthis

Η ÎÎºÎ´Î¿Ï

Crap, I just realised that writing Greek inside a link corrupts the message. OK, let's try it in English this time.

I tried to access both sites and there was no problem whatsoever, using an ADSL line provisioned from TEE.

First, please upgrade to Kickstart 3.5.1 because you version is a little too old.

Regarding your problem, I can think two reasons.

First, you may have some Javascript blocking plugin installed in your browser. Try disabling browser plugins or using a different browser.

The other possible problem is that the 3G connection lags too much and screws up the Javascript on the page. Using version 3.5.1 will solve this issue. Just make sure you also upload the two .js files together with kickstart.php.

Off-topic: Are you coming to Joomla! Day Greece this weekend?

Thank you for your prompt reply!

I did upload the newest files. I tell you this: It is a really weird problem, I will get back to you later today.

Thank you for the Joomla! Day reminder - I will be there most of the time. We can meet.

Are you sure that 3G can mess up things that bad?

I've had some major trouble with 3G, but not with Kickstart 3.5.1. I'm using a Cosmote Internet on The Go contract plan with the "pocket Wi-Fi" receiver. If you extract Kickstart' ZIP file and upload everything to the host, however, even the lousiest 3G signal poses no problem (in my house I usually only get 56Kbps GPRS, unless I go to the balcony). Yup, tried it now, even on GPRS mode it works.

If it still doesn't work properly, try using a different browser. Many times I had to switch between Firefox and Chrome when one didn't work properly. Also remember clearing your browser's cache between tries ;)

I'll be at the Joomla! Day event all day. Well, it'll be easy to spot me. I usually wear an Akeeba Backup t-shirt with a matching Akeeba Backup baseball cap :D

Dear Nicolas,

Finally, it was the 3G connection. My ISDN just got restored, so it works.

Thank you for being so professional - I will be there to meet you.
