You have to ask your host to give your MySQL user the SHOW VIEW privilege. Right now there is one MySQL VIEW in your database and we are not allowed to view its definition. If Akeeba Backup would let you ignore that error, you'd end up with an incomplete backup, that's why we choose to fail the backup in this case.

Is this a result of a recent change to Akeeba? I am asking because I have been using it successfully for a very long time. All of a sudden I am getting this error and I don't believe I made any changes.

No, it is because you installed or updated a component which now uses MySQL VIEWs. In case I didn't make this clear, this error message does not come from Akeeba Backup, it comes from your database server. Your database server complains that your database user is not allowed to list VIEWs. In short, the issue has little to do with Akeeba Backup's code and has everything to do with the kind of stuff you've got on your database and how it works.

Ok, nevermind. Found the problem. Somehow the "Show View" privilege for the MySQL user had been disabled. All is good.

Thanks for the prompt reply.
