EXTREMELY IMPORTANT: Please attach a ZIP file containing your Akeeba Backup log file in order for us to help you with any backup or restoration issue. If the file is over 2Mb, please upload it on your server and post a link to it.

Description of my issue:

Saw a similar ticket to this problem and tried the solution, but still can't get access to the backup component. I get this error:

The website encountered an error while retrieving http://www.mydomain.com/administrator/index.php?option=com_akeeba. It may be down for maintenance or configured incorrectly.

I have akeeba backup pro, just updated it to 3.5, reinstalled it several times. The site is 2.5.4. I can access other components, like Admin Tools, JCE, etc. so it's not a server issue.

The restore points plugin is disabled. I just backed up the site with the 3.4 version before updating it to 3.5 so it was working then.

Tmp directory is writable.

I tried a manual install from the tmp directory. It said it installed successfully, but I still get the same error.

Give me two hours. I am not packaging and preparing version 3.5.1 for release. Version 3.5.1 solves those issues. In case you're wondering, there are two high priority issues which may cause a blank page:
  • If you had Akeeba Backup 3.2.x or 3.3.x installed at some point on your site there were files left behind during the subsequent upgrade to 3.5.x. These files caused fatal PHP errors.
  • On some hosts a particular file is being loaded twice, causing a fatal error

These are both addressed in 3.5.1 which will be released in a couple of hours.
