Host: (optional, but it helps us help you)
Akeeba Backup version: 3.5.0

EXTREMELY IMPORTANT: Please attach a ZIP file containing your Akeeba Backup log file in order for us to help you with any backup or restoration issue. If the file is over 2Mb, please upload it on your server and post a link to it.

Description of my issue:

I upgraded to 3.5.0 everything seemed ok - until today when overnight the backup didn't complete because it had filled up the hosting account, I looked into it and in the upgrade my profile and settings were not effected but the file/directory exclusions were somehow removed without me knowing. This then tried to backup a large volume of files that normally don't get backed up?

I don't have any issues now but in the past these exclusions have not been removed when upgrading, is it likely that these will be removed when I upgrade in the future or was it something querky with this particular upgrade (just thought I should let you know)?

Also, would it be possible if Akeeba doesn't complete during a backup process due to disk space to pick up the partial backup file and delete it so that it doesn't sit on the hosting space and therefore block mails etc. until we manually remove it? Tell me if this is not possible. I was just wondering whether, if it was then, it might be a good feature?

Cheers,

Dave

Normally your settingsare preserved, unless the serverkey.php file is removed during update. When doing a regular update thisnever happens. If, however, you uninstall AB or remove its directories before updating this is exactly what I'd expect to happen. Settings were not lost in any of the over half dozen sites I personally upgraded the previous few days.

Regarding your suggestion, I'd like that but it's not possible. When your account is filled up, the host kills the backup script. As a result we don't have the chance to run any code. However, if you visit Akeeba Backup's Control Panel page 3 minutes or more after the backup fails then the half finished backu files should be removed automatically.

Hi Nicholas,

Didn't uninstall or remove files just did an upgrade, oh well.

I knew you would have tried to delete the file if you could, it is on a cron so unlikely I would view the site within that timescale.

Not to worry this doesn't happen often enough to worry about.

Thanks again for your hard work on this component.
