Akeeba Backup version: 3.5

EXTREMELY IMPORTANT: Please attach a ZIP file containing your Akeeba Backup log file in order for us to help you with any backup or restoration issue. If the file is over 2Mb, please upload it on your server and post a link to it.

Description of my issue:

After several emails saying I needed to update, I clicked the automatic update and it came back with error 500.

Apache Error Log for host reports:

[Wed May 16 20:17:59 2012] [warn] mod_fcgid: stderr: PHP Fatal error: Cannot redeclare class AEPlatform in /home/lspcr/public_html/administrator/components/com_akeeba/akeeba/platform/joomla15/platform.php on line 15

Been working fine before update, tried running update through component updates and it said it installed ok (usual install display screen, i.e. Akeeba Backup blah blah) but when clicking into component through admin screen get error 500.

p.s. I have subscriptions for BackupPro and AdminToolsPro but if I try and raise a ticket in AkeebaSubs it does not show the New Ticket button? Any ideas why?

You have a broken installation. The error is thrown by a file which was present in the old version of the component (3.4.3) but not in the new one (3.5.0). Try removing/renaming the administrator/components/com_akeeba and components/com_akeeba directories and install the component again on top of your existing installation.

I can read Akeeba Subs support but not post tickets?

Regarding your p.s., Akeeba Subscriptions and Akeeba Release System support is only covered by the MINISUPPORT and AKEEBADELUXE levels. Our other subscription levels (ATPRO and AKEEBAPRO) only cover Akeeba Backup and Admin Tools support.
