I cannot upgrade to the latest version of Backup and on your support page it says 1.5 is not support and will not be supported after Aug 2012! We have no plans to upgrade our sites from 1.5. Why would you abandon customers?

Because the Joomla! project announced back in January 2011 that J! 1.5 would be end of life in April 2012. They gave it an extension of life till the end of August. From that point the Joomla! project will abandon Joomla! 1.5. This means that these old versions will receive no security fixes. So what you are telling me is that you have no plans of running a secure site. That's why I won't be supporting obsolete versions of Joomla!. At some point you'll be hacked, or your host will install a new version of PHP or MySQL which won't be compatible with your antiquated version of Joomla!. You know what happens when someone's site breaks? They come here shouting that I broke their site even though I have nothing to do with it. So no, thanks, but no thanks, I won't support obsolete versions of Joomla! past their end of life. Not to mention that I have announced my plans of Joomla! version support since last tear and include it in every single release announcement for the last several months.

To put things in persepctive. Do you think Microsoft still supports Windows 3.1?

Good point. We love your work :)

But my problem is I only learned about it when upgrade failed. No worries.

If only I could push big alerts in your control panel page :) I thought about such a feature, but it would violate JED's rules.
