Mandatory information about my setup:

Have I read the related troubleshooter articles above before posting (which pages?)? YES
Have I searched the tickets before posting? YES
Have I read the documentation before posting (which pages?)? YES
Joomla! version: 1.5.26
PHP version: 3.4.9
MySQL version: 5.1.56
Host: (optional, but it helps us help you)
Akeeba Backup version: 3.4.3

EXTREMELY IMPORTANT: Please attach a ZIP file containing your Akeeba Backup log file in order for us to help you with any backup or restoration issue. If the file is over 2Mb, please upload it on your server and post a link to it.

Description of my issue:

We have installed Akeeba backup on 20 or so sites and have gotten it working on all of them except for one (thanks to your help). This particular site is set-up exactly like all of the others and is on the same hosting server. However, this site does NOT have sh404SEF installed on it. The problems we've had in the past have been related to an outdated version of sh404SEF, but again this site does NOT have it installed at all. I have attached a log, but it is from the back-end.

Any help would be appreciated!

ALSO - We keep seeing and yellow and red warning screen flash real quick (on most sites), but we are unable to read it. Are those warning in a log or something where we can review them?

If you do not see a log file created from the front-end origin then the backup hasn't even began to run. We need to determine why this happens. Try pasting the backup URL to your browser and visit it.

If the backup runs, it should result in either a notice about too many redirects (that's good, it just means that your browser gave up after 20 redirections) or a white page with the message "200 OK" on it (this means the backup is complete). If you get an error message, please paste it here. If you get a blank page or a 500 Internal Server Error page then you have a conflicting plugin. If you paste me the latest 20 lines of your server's PHP error log (not the access log, they are different) then I should be able to at least point you to the right direction.

We are using a Cron job to automate our backups:
/usr/bin/php5-cli /home/hoosier/public_html/administrator/components/com_akeeba/altbackup.php -profile=1

This has worked on all of our other sites. I do not know what URL you are referring to...

Thanks

That script just runs the front-end backup feature. Follow the link, the URL can be found there. That said, why don't you try using backup.php (instead of altbackup.php) instead? It's much faster and less likely to be affected by timeouts than altbackup.php. backup.php uses real command-line backup, it doesn't use the front-end backup feature.

The backup.php ran just fine. I think we had a problem with it on a site we used very early on so we switched to the altbackup.php and everything has been fine with it until now.

Thanks for your assistance!
