Mandatory information about my setup:

Have I read the related troubleshooter articles above before posting (which pages?)? No
Have I searched the tickets before posting? No
Have I read the documentation before posting (which pages?)? No
Joomla! version: (unknown)
PHP version: (unknown)
MySQL version: (unknown)
Host: (optional, but it helps us help you)
Akeeba Backup version: (unknown)

EXTREMELY IMPORTANT: Please attach a ZIP file containing your Akeeba Backup log file in order for us to help you with any backup or restoration issue. If the file is over 2Mb, please upload it on your server and post a link to it.

Description of my issue:

We are using Site5's VPS to host our joomla sites. We set up CronJob to automatically to back up to Amazon's S3. We've noticed that sometimes the automatic backup was not successful.

Please see the backup file sizes for what I am talking about.

What can caused this issue? Does the previous version of Akeeba stop working AUTOMATICALLY once a new version is released and found? The site is running Akeeba3.3.13. Must we update every site's Akeeba to keep it working properly when new Akeeba is released?

Thanks,

JWN

Of course there is no such check in my code! You can use old versions for as long as you please - I just don't support them any more. I am suspecting that you are running out of disk space on your server, causing the failed backups. Ideally, I'd need a backup log file from a failed backup to tell you what's going on.

Thank you for your response, Nicholas!

The attached zip has 2 log files - front and backend for last night failed backup.

We appreciate your help and your time.

The only problem I see is that both files indicate a successful backup :(

No problem! If the CRON job fails again, feel free to post back with the log file of the failed backup.
