Your real problem is that the backup never completes. The very first thing to try is following these instructions: https://www.akeebabackup.com/documentation/troubleshooter/abbackup.html Please double check your free space.

If that doesn't help, I can see that the CRON backup fails at around 135 seconds into the backup. If you can run a backup from the back-end and only the CRON backup fails, please contact your host and ask them to lift any timeout or CPU usage limits for your CRON jobs.

Ok

1. I have created a new box.net account (free one) with 5 Gb of space. There aren't any files stored on that for now so enough free space --> CHECK

2. I can run the Back-up in the back-end perfectly..

3. I did run the wizard

4. I've contacted my host and there is not realy a solution to lift any timeout or CPU usage limits for your CRON jobs.

Hope you can find the problem so I can configurate all my websites..

Kind regards

Thank you for your email with the log file. I think I know what is going on. You have your backup in one very big (~380Mb) file. Even though Box.net doesn't clearly specify an upload limit, I suspect that they don't allow very big files to be uploaded, just like Dropbox. Let's try a workaround.

Go to Akeeba Backup's Configuration page and click on the Configure... button next to the Archive Engine. Set the Part size for split archives to 5Mb. Retry backing up. You should now see about 70 files with the same name and extensions of .zip, .z01, .z02 etc being uploaded. If that works, try increasing the part size for split archives until you find the maximum value where the backup doesn't fail any more. I would try the following values: 10Mb, 20Mb, 50Mb, 75Mb, 100Mb, 150Mb, 200Mb, 250Mb, 300Mb.

Hi,

Splitting up the back-up file seems to solve the problem..

Now I can see that the free disk space (on host) is reducing a lot.. Is it possible that there is still stored some back-up files on my host? (temporary files maybe?)

I don't want any back-up files on the host space.. only on the box.net space.. What do I have to do?

Thank you in advance

Kind regards

Gerrit

Hello Gerrit,

There was a bug regarding box.net. See our release announcement:
The Box.net integration would copy the backup archive to the administrator directory and not delete it. Professional subscribers using the box.net integration are kindly requested to check their administrator directory for the existence of leftover backup archives due to this bug and remove them

I believe this is what's going on with your site.

When I check the administrator file I do not find any back-up files... Where are they stored normally?

Administrator/backups?

administrator/components/com_akeeba/backup?

If you are affected by this bug, you will see the old backup files in administrator. Otherwise, your backups are stored in your backup output directory, by default administrator/components/com_akeeba/backup. If there are such files in there, you can remove them. Then you can use the delete after upload option in the Box.net configuration to have Akeeba Backup automatically remove the backup files from your server once it uploads them to box.net.
