Joomla! version: 1.5.21
PHP version: 5.2.17
MySQL version: 5.1.61

Description of my issue:
I can not get the backup to work my site is large ut the backups started to fail about 50% of the time now I get nothing at all. I just started to back up to amazon s3 but the issue was present befor that process I want to get some good backups as I plan to upgrade to joomla 2.5

Go to your Akeeba Backup Configuration page. Find the "Database backup engine" option and click the Configure button next to it. Set:
- MySQL Compatibility: Default
- Number of rows per batch: 1000
Scroll to the bottom of the page. Set:
- Minimum execution time: 1 second
- Maximum execution time: 5 seconds
- Runtime bias: 50%
Save the configuration.

No go to "Database Tables Exclusion". Scroll all the way to the bottom and find the "sl_url_cache" entry. It has two icons on the left hand side. Click the second from the left (the one whose tooltip reads "Do not backup its contents"). The icon spins and becomes yellow.

Now take a new backup. If it fails again, please ZIP and attach your backup log file.

I did as you instructed and the backup was quick and complete. I need to check my s3 bucket but it seems the backup is good to go. I may make an identical backup profile to save some copies on my server also. Thank you so much. great product and fantastic service
