Is there a way to test a CRON job via SSH? I thought I remember doing this a while back, but can't seem to find the SSH connection info in Akeeba Backup doc anywhere. Perhaps I found out how to connect via Google.

I'd like to test the CRON command line manually before scheduling.

I'm sure Nicholas will quote me the page and paragraph for this. :-)

It's as obvious as obvious can get: just log in to your site via SSH and run the command line you're using in CRON directly on the SSH command prompt. That's all there is to it :)

Well I wondered if it was that easy. Thanks Nicholas!

I think I must have had to make a SSH connection from 1&1 provider. Rochen is much easier!!!

Just tried the command line to backup a website via backup.php. Wicked cool and extremely easy.

One question. My backup location is not the default in Akeeba. Anyway to redirect it to the folder where backups are stored?

Or would it just be better to move the file once it's done backing up?

Thanks Nicholas!

Well, why would you want to move the file around? If you need it created somewhere else, just edit Akeeba Backup's Configuration for that particular backup profile and set the Output Directory to your liking :)

Well crapola. I used the profile parameter for my User Account, but it's supposed to be the profile account for Akeeba?

Ok, one minor change and I'm in business! :-)

Backup file still ended up in the default location, even with Output Directory set in profile. Thoughts? Ideas? Suggestions?

Is it set on the correct profile?

That's just it - there's only one profile; the default.

Empty your site's temporary directory. And make sure you are not using the Lazy Scheduling plugin. These are two reasons I can think which could trigger this issue.

Good morning!
Not quite sure how to reply to a public ticket, or even if I am allowed, but I'm getting a similar issue to someone else who posted on March 2nd regarding an error message from a CRON job.

The warning states:

POTENTIAL PROBLEMS DETECTED; 1 warnings issued
Failed to remove old backup file /home/MYLOCATION/public_html/BACKUPFOLDER/site-mydomainname.com-20120312-121115.jpa

The crazy part? The JPA file actually DID get deleted.

I'm thinking this is a benign error, but don't know that for certain.

No hurry to answer this, but wanted you to know I'm getting the same error from a CRON job.

Akeeba version is 3.4.3.

Thanks!
Janis

You can't reply to someone else's ticket. That's why I made this ticket system. I don't want two or more users with unrelated problems on the same thread. It's a nightmare when you're doing support.

Regarding this issue, it's not even an issue. Ignore it. It simply means that one of the backup records was marked as being OK (the files are on the server) when in reality the files were not on the server (e.g. you deleted them). Just ignore that message.
