Joomla! version: 1.5
PHP version: 5.2.17
MySQL version: 5.0.95-community
Host: (optional, but it helps us help you)
Akeeba Backup version: 3.4.1

EXTREMELY IMPORTANT: Please attach a ZIP file containing your Akeeba Backup log file in order for us to help you with any backup or restoration issue. If the file is over 2Mb, please upload it on your server and post a link to it.

Description of my issue:Get a message saying the it can't write to the archive file. I took a backup in Jan and it worked fine. The site was moved up a directory at the end of Jan, but no new system plug-ins, components, modules were added and the hosting didn't change, so am not sure why it stopped working.

I uninstalled Akeeba (I had 3.3.11) and installed 3.4.1, and got the same error msg. Attached is the log file. If it is something that the host changed, please let me know what I have to tell them...I am not savvy with server settings and such.

Since you've moved your site, it's possible that the output directory setting in Akeeba Backup is either invalid or the directory is not writable. Here's what to do.

First go to Components, Akeeba Backup, Configuration and find the Output Directory settings. Set it to [DEFAULT_OUTPUT] (all caps, include the square brackets). Then, using your FTP software, give 0777 permissions to the administrator/components/com_akeeba/backup directory. It won't compromise your site's security, as we have a .htaccess file in that directory which makes it inaccessible over the web. Now, retry backing up.

Well, this is embarrassing. I didn't double check the space allotment for the site with the host. In today's world, so many hosting companies offer more space than most small business sites could ever hope to use. My client was 10MB from their limit, so I had the hosting company increase the max disk usage and the backup worked fine. Anyhow, thanks for your time!
