Joomla! version: 2.5.1
PHP version: 5.3.10
MySQL version: 5.1
Host: 2.5.1
Akeeba Backup version: 3.4.1

EXTREMELY IMPORTANT: Please attach a ZIP file containing your Akeeba Backup log file in order for us to help you with any backup or restoration issue. If the file is over 2Mb, please upload it on your server and post a link to it.

Description of my issue:
Hi,
I've updated to the last version of Akeeba and then all my akeeba configuration was lost. So, I tried to configure again everything and especially Dropbox (which used to work).
So, I've clicked on the "Authentification step 1" for Dropbox copy of backup. Then, I have to log to Dropbox. I've logged in, then I've closed the popup. And when I click on "Authentification step2", I have the following error message: "ERROR: couldn't complete authetification, please retry".

Any idea of what could be wrong ?

Your server has PHP Safe Mode enabled. I am going to release version 3.4.2 today which fixes this problem on servers with PHP Safe Mode enabled.

When I look into Joomla-> Site -> Information, I can see in the PHP setting panel: "Safe Mode: Off"

When, I disable Dropbox post-processing, the backup succeeds.

Please ZIP and attach your backup log file (from a failed backup using Dropbox)

Problem solved !

My trouble was comming from the fact that in the Akeeba configuration page, the Dropbox validation popup is to small and hide the validation button.

So, just have to increase the size of the popup, validate, and everything is fine !

Thank you,

The popup is a healthy 600x400 pixels. If it appears very small, you have some popup blocker on your browser which cause the popup to resize very small. Hm, just to make sure, are you using Firefox with AdBlock Plus?
