Joomla! version: 2.5.2
PHP version: 5.3.3
MySQL version: 5.1.49-3
Host: Own VPS server, Debian 6
Akeeba Backup version: 3.4.1

EXTREMELY IMPORTANT: Please attach a ZIP file containing your Akeeba Backup log file in order for us to help you with any backup or restoration issue. If the file is over 2Mb, please upload it on your server and post a link to it.

Description of my issue:

I have connected my Akeeba Backup to my Dropbox account so that Akeeba will send my backups to Dropbox.

But after the backup is finished I get this message and the backup isn´t sent to Dropbox:

File exceeds 150MB upload limit

File exceeds 150MB upload limit

File exceeds 150MB upload limit

Failed to process file /var/www/vhosts/fotoforalla.se/fotoforalla.se/httpdocs/administrator/components/com_akeeba/backup/site-www.fotoforalla.se-20120307-195025.jpa

Post-processing interrupted -- no more files will be transferred

Please read through this section of the user guide to make sure you have the dropbox processor setup correctly.

So you can´t upload backups larger than 150 mb to dropbox, I bought Akeeba Backup Pro for the Dropbox support and now I can´t use it!

My backups are almost 700 MB large, is there some other way to stor my backups "off site"?

Please read the documentation again, much more carefully. You can set up the part size for split archives to 150Mb or less and Akeeba Backup will split your backup in multiple parts. Please read the documentation regarding cloud backups. I've written it for a good reason ;)

Ok I will, it is just that your eyes kind of gets glued to the text in red:

"You can not upload files over 150Mb to Dropbox. This is a limitation imposed by Dropbox. Use of a greater Part Size for Split Archives will cause a transfer error. We regret to inform you that there is no workaround to this."

Especially this part "We regret to inform you that there is no workaround to this."

Which suggest that it is no point in reading any further.

The corollary tithe second sentence is that smaller part sizes do work, which is what I suggested. Part sizes are discussed previously in the documentation and their functionality is not discussed again in the Dropbox engine doc section.

Ok I have set up split archives at 20 MB now but it still doesn´t work, I get this error message:

You need to either download the latest dev release or wait a couple of hours until I release version 3.4.2.

Ok now with 3.4.2 it works! How do I restore a backup that is split in to severall archives?

rkendallc
You can find an answer on restoring multi-archive backups here: https://www.akeebabackup.com/documentation/quick-start-guide/restoring-backups.html

Sorry...The submission went to quickly.

Restoring with multiple-part archives is no different than using a single .jpa file. The section I referenced will walk you through how to restore a backup.

erkan
But I useally use Akeeba extract wizard to extract the JPA package which works great if I only have one package to extract.

So do I have to use Akeeba Kickstart to restore a split archive backup?

Both work just fine with split archives. We've been using split archives in our software -Backup, Kickstart, eXtract Wizard and SiteDiff- for the last four years :)

But if I use Akeeba Extract Wizarad and my backup is split in to 10 archives how do I merge thoose archives again after the extraction?

When I extract them I will get my Joomla installation split into 10 different folders, how do I get them back in to one folder again?

You didn't read the documentation yet, have you? All you have to do is put all of the archive parts on the same directory before using Kickstart or Akeeba eXtract Wizard. The rest is magically handled by our software. Conceptually, a split archive is the same thing as a split ZIP and works in exactly the same way.
