Description of my issue:

I got the error JInstaller: :Install: Cannot find XML setup file

Search around, and in your forums. Did a manual install as directed and that worked.

However

I have the latest version and it shows at the upper right that I do have the latest version however the big button still says I need to update.

Here are some screen shots.

Everything seems to be working fine however this is an odd situation and thought I better post this.

Thank,
-John

Live update is not compatible with your server environment. Please use the manual update method.

Thanks for the reply. Curious. What part or the server environment? I have many sites on this Centos 5 server and another Akeeba backup updated went with no problem.

Hm, that's strange. This usually happens when the PHP cURL extension doesn't work properly or if there is no server-wide cacert.pem file. Another thing to try is to hit the refresh update information button or wait for 24 hours (which will expire the updates cache)

Thanks, I will wait and try in 24 hours. As I mentioned, the manual update worked just fine. I just wanted to toss this to you to see if I was missing something.

I'm getting ready to move everything to Centos 6, and a fresh server is usually a blessing and a curse. So maybe the move will solve the issue while introducing many others.

Everything is ok with the manual updates so it's not a big deal other than the fact that it says I need to update when I have the latest. Thanks for the quick responses.

It's probably is the virtual server since it is fine on another virtual server within the physical server.

You are correct, strange it is :-)
