You should be able to post. I did the same thing to many people before you. Do you get an error trying to access the ticket?

Your site says:

when trying to send you the andser and the attached *.7z file with php.ini files + error log file + other info

It doesn't really matter. Another client gave me access to his site and I've now identified the root cause of this issue on the affected hosts. As soon as people stop flooding me with support requests (I've replied to over 100 today, I lost count after that) I'll release a new version

ok!... thanks for answering! (Then, I can stop duplicating my live site to an online development domain inside the same server to be able to allow you to access to its backend)
- If you feel you need my help again don't hesitate to let me know...
- I have no problem to wait till next version (meantime I can increase nr of backups ToAmazonS3 (profile3) and stop webcron service of the ToDropbox one (profile2))
Thanks for all!

Hi again,
Upgraded to 3.4.1 version with the following results:
- Authentication Step one: Conected and confirmed link between Dropbox and Akeeba Backup --> Seems OK!
- Authentication Step Two: Give an error as follows:

ERROR: could not complete authentication, please retry

Pay a look to the attached picture
Hope this helps (thanks in advance for your feedback),

1. Go to our Downloads page, re-download (mandatory) Akeeba Backup Professional 3.4.1. Do not use an already downloaded package.
2. Go to your site's Extensions, Install/Uninstall (Joomla! 1.5) or Manage Extensions (Joomla! 1.7/2.5) and install the package you just downloaded.
3. Retry.

If this still doesn't work, it's something on your server and I don't know what. I can't replicate it on any server under my control.

Technical notes: as per the official Dropbox API both request_token and access_token methods are supposed to be accessed with a POST request. This is EXACTLY what we're doing. On some (broken) servers, this results to an invalid signature being generated which causes the reported issues. I have checked the signing method and it is correct. The base string Dropbox expects to be signed AND the signature are correct, but you seem to have a broken cURL implementation which sends some (or all? I can't tell) of the request parameters in a wrong format to the server. As a result, I have updated the code to use GET instead of POST, which is bound to stop working at some point as it is AGAINST the official Dropbox implementation. The same problem could occur past the authorisation process, when uploading files to Dropbox. If this happens, either update cURL and the PHP cURL extension on your server, or you will not be able to use Dropbox. There's only so much I can do about it.

Hi, again

- No changed made to my php.ini server file...
- Re-downloaded again the 3.41 version (dated 120307) as you said in you last answer.
- Installed the new downloaded 3.4.1 over the old 3.4.1 downloaded yesterday, through Extension Manager

>> Now both Dropbox Authorization Steps works correctly

Thanks a lot for you efforts solving the reported bug.

You may have trouble using Dropbox, i.e. files won't upload. Please check it out and if this happens please tell me and wait for a new release.

Please download and install the latest dev release and install it on top of your existing version (do not uninstall anything). Try taking a new backup. Does this work?

Is it possible to please ZIP and attach the backup log file? It will help me better understand what's going on.

I now know that when PHP Safe Mode is enabled, cURL doesn't want to play along. I developed a workaround. Please install dev release svn1283 and retry backing up. Hopefully that will work.
